Thanks for the add Sarah! Ask me anything.. I'm not a trainer.. but I've learned a lot in the 20 some odd years I've been lifting.. My personal program takes not more then 40 minutes a day (sometimes less then 30) and 6 days a week. It's actually the Body for LIfe Program
It's just an intense work out and nutrition program. 3 weight training days and 3 cardio-type days, then one rest. It's all chinups pushups squats and that sort of thing. Old school workouts. It's a home based workout, but it's easy to do it at the gym. It's made by beachbody, and it's one of the few marketed fitness programs that is actually effective, well in my experience. Go onto youtube and type in p90x results, and you'll see thousands of inspiring videos. That's what got me into it. There is even a group on here for it. I'm a member. I found that there is so much variety in it, that I never got bored. You don't really have to worry about plateauing either because the whole fitness program changes every month. The food changes every month too. I have a few friends that I got hooked on it, they really like it. There are tons of modifications for every exercise you do as well. You can do all the exercises with free weights or just pick up a set of resistance bands. If you can't do chin ups they show you how to do it with the bands to gain strength. I found that after each work out I was completely exhausted. After two months I was barely able to function after the work outs so I started taking a pre work out supplement and it gave me some energy for after the work out. It's pretty much a hell work out. A love hate relationship. Check it out. Beachbody.com is the website I think. I don't know if they ship to the UK, but they probably do.
Hey there Sara. Thanks for the add. Good luck with your goals. I have never competed myself, but I'm looking to start in 2010. I work at a gym and a few of the people there compete. I used to be pretty undefined, only 3 months ago. I used p90x to get in the shape I'm in now. I'm not promoting it at all or anything, its just what I used. It really helps you get in shape if you have the motivation. Any questions about it, feel free to ask me. Talk soon
